1957: Drafted and went to Naval Aviation Flight School, Pensacola, Fl

1958: Received pilot's wings and commission as a 2nd Lt. USMC.

1958-1959: Marine HRS-3 helicopter pilot, HMR-163, Oppama, Japan.

1959: AD-1 pilot, Iwakuni, Japan and VMO-2, OE-1 "Bird dog"
and HOK-1 helicopter pilot on Okinawa.

1959-1962: VMO-1, (FAQ) OE-1 andHOK-1 helicopter, New River, NC.

1960: Married Eleanor R. Dedinsky in New York City.

1962-1964: H-34 helicopter pilot in HMM-161, Kaneohe, Hawaii.

1964: OIC 3d Brigade, Ist ANGLICO, Camp Smith, Hawaii..
F-9F & T-33 Barbers Pt.

1965-1966: MAG-16, Da Nang and Marble Mountain Airfield, Republic of Vietnam.
Flew UH-1E gunship and H-34 helicopters.

1966: Amphibious Warfare School, Quantico, VA.

1967-1969: MCAF Santa Ana, CA, Base Special Plans and Operations Officer.

1969-1970: VMO-2 Forward Air Controller in OV-10A " Bronco" and
AH-U "Cobra" Pilot, Marble Mountain Airfield, Republic of Vietnam.

1970-1971: VMO-I, Forward Air Controller in OV-10A, New River, NC.

1971-1973: Amphibious Warfare Officer and Marine Air Officer of
entire 7th Fleet on staff of Admiral Holloway, Commander 7th Fleet aboard
USS Oklahoma City, 7th Fleet flag ship off North and South Vietnam.

1973-1975: XO and CO, Marine Air Reserve Training Detachment,
Detroit, Michigan (3 Reserve Squadrons.)

1975-1977: CO, VMO-2, Camp Pendleton, CA

1977-1978: XO and CO, MAG-39, Camp Pendleton, CA

1978-1979: Logistics Officer, 1 Marine Amphibious Force (1MAF), Camp Pendleton, CA.

1979: Retired from the Marine Corps with the rank of Colonel after flying 25 years in 24 types of aircraft.
Military decorations include: the Marine Corps Medal for Personal Heroism,
two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and twenty-five Air Medals.

Non-Military:

National Sales Manager, Rockwell International (Integrated Circuits). RETIRED.

National Sales Manager, Hughes Semiconductors (Chips). RETIRED.

Vice President, Litel Instruments (Laser Machine Manufacturer). RETIRED 2000.

Wrote five books, including bestseller, CLEARED HOT!  Marine combat flying based on
two of three combat tours in Vietnam...440 combat missions and shot down twice...
